Medical Practitioners measure blood pressure against the arteries with two numbers. The greater of these two numbers is called as systolic pressure while the other number is lower number – diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure is measured during heartbeats while Diastolic pressure is measured between the heartbeats.

We have wide variety of medicine that can treat hypertension. We prescribe medication depending upon your case and requirements. Different medications for hypertension includes: ACE Inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), Beta blockers, Thiazide diuretics, Calcium channel blockers or combination medications (two medications at once) if you have really high blood pressure.

Diabetes

Diabetes is a chronic health condition that lasts long and affects your body’s internal process of turning food into energy. When you eat food, most of it becomes glucose – sugar – and it is released into your bloodstream. When the amount of sugar increases in your sugar, it gives a signal to your pancreas that it’s time to release insulin. Insulin plays a key role in allowing the sugar in your blood to be utilized as energy.

A person who has diabetes means that either his body does not produce enough insulin or can’t utilize insulin. When there is not enough insulin or insulin cannot be utilized then blood sugar cannot be converted into energy hence a large amount of it stays in your bloodstream. With passage of time, it can create serious health crisis like heart disease, vision loss and kidney disease.

There are two types of Diabetes:

  1. Type 1 Diabetes

Type 1 diabetes happens when your body stops making insulin. Type 1 insulin is usually managed by taking insulin shots.

  1. Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes happens when your body can not use insulin that your body has created. For this type, we prescribe medicines that either helps your body to use your insulin better or get rid of the extra sugar from your bloodstream.
